Ocean Safaris helps the community of Plettenberg Bay

Kranshoek Griekwa Nedersetting

KRANSHOEK owes its origin to the relocation of a group of Griqua people from Kokstad in the days of the apartheid government.

It is a picturesque site but too far from Plettenberg Bay when competing there for work. Here too the process of acquiring land is taking time. However, the Bitou ( Plettenberg Bay ) Municipality is in the last stages of making available a substantial site, ( Kranshoek 993 ) to be leased initially at R 500 pm with an option to purchase as soon as building commences. The site could one day accommodate a high school and boarding facility, catering for the wider rural community.

Although Ocean Safaris contributes financially to the SONOP/Kranshoek Child Welfare Soup Kitchen, these funds alone are not enough to provide for the number of people in need of a hot meal.

Donations of dry foods for soups are always welcome.  If you are visiting the area, you are more than welcome to visit Kranshoek and either make a donation to SONOP or buy one of the lovely hand crafts produced by the locals.....
